General rules                          

 

  1. All students are required to fill up the registration form.
  2. Prior to the start of the course, the student should have read, agreed and signed on the rules and regulations.
  3. All the rules written are applied in all the aspects of the academy.
  4. The student should make sure to apply for his/her own student or traveler’s insurance in their country just in case of any accidents. All medical expenses will be compensated and received from the insurance center.
  5. In case of expulsion due to the student’s improper action, there would be no refund.
  6. All students will be required to take the level test which will define the level of the student. Teachers and classes will be assigned depending on the level.
  7. Teachers would not be changed without any special reason for the first week. Students have the chance to choose or changed their teacher after 2 weeks of the program. But it will depend on the availability of the teachers’ schedule.
  8. One class is 50 minutes. Ten minutes break before another class is given.
  9. Classes are from Monday to Friday. Both Saturdays and Sundays are free days.

 

Section 1. Enrollment and extension

 

  1. Registration fee is $100. All payment should be paid 6 weeks prior to the start of the program.
  2. Within 2 days (excluding national holidays) of registration, the student will receive an invoice together with the confirmation letter.
  3. 3. Tuition fee and other expenses shall be subject to change according to the exchange rate, tax, prices and other measures taken by the government.
  4. By policy, 4 weeks is the minimum number of weeks of our program. If the student wants to extend his/her program, the student may do so, but the academy should be informed at least 2 weeks before the end of the program and the student must fill up the extension program form. Every after 4-week program, the student will undergo a level test or placement test to know what level is applicable for the extended program.

Certificate of Completion will be received after finishing the program with at least 90% of attendance and result of the Post-Test given.

 

Section 2. Refund Rule

 

(Refund of the registration fee shall not be given under any circumstances)

  1. All refund requests should be reasonable. The student has to make sure to fill up the refund form.
  2. Both cancellation and refund request should be done in written.
  3. In case of cancelling or postponement of the program after enrollment, a period of 1 year is given for the student to validate his registration.
  4. When the student does not attend the classes ever since the first day until the third week of the course week, there would be no refund.

In case of expulsion, No refund is applied

  1. The standard number of course week is 4 weeks. If the student would want to only attend lesser number of weeks, s/he would not receive any refund.
  2. In case of the teacher’s tardiness (over 15 minutes late in class) or absence, students have the right to demand for a make-up class but no refund.
  3. In case of leaving the academy before the end of the program for some personal reason, students cannot have classes in advance and will not receive the Certificate of Completion.
  4. A refund for no class incurred due to natural disaster shall not be given. No class shall be given on special and national holidays and there would be no refund.

*However, if there will be inevitable and unavoidable instances such as illness of the student and illness or death of any family member during the course, remaining 50% of the tuition fee will be refund even without prior notice.

 

Note:

  1. Course fee should be paid 4 weeks prior to the start of the program. If ever the tuition fee is not paid, enrollment could be cancelled.
  2. Visa extension fee, SSP issuance fee and I-Card fee could change depending on the immigration of the Philippines.
  3. In case of cancellation, remaining days of the course could not be transferred or given to any third party.
  4. Refund will be given 1 month after the student has left IDEA.

 

Section 3. Exemption rule

 

  1. When IDEA could not provide the supposed service given to the student due to natural disaster and any uncontrollable reason, there would be no refund and no responsibility or obligation would be asked from IDEA.
  2. If ever there would be loss, damage and anything bad happens to the student due to the actions done by the student without the permission of the academy, IDEA would not be held with any responsibility.
  3. Classes will be from Mondays to Fridays (5 days per week). There would be no classes on Philippine holidays and there would be no refund.
  4. If there will be any unavoidable changes such as the currency rate, tax or any government law, IDEA has the right to change rates. IDEA also has the right to change programs, dates, and curriculum to be able to provide better quality education to the student.
  5. In case of delay or no visa extension due to the student not paying for the cost, IDEA would not be held responsible.

 

 

Section 4. Attendance

 

  1. All students are required to be in their classrooms on time.10 minutes of grace period will be given. If the student comes later than 10 minutes, the student would not be allowed to attend the class.
  • If the student comes late to class for three times, the student would not be allowed to attend that specific class.
  1. If the student did not do his/her homework, the student could be limited from attending the class
  • If the student commits this act for three times, the student would not be allowed to attend that specific class.
  1. If the student would have more than three classes which s/he is limited to attend due to tardiness and not doing of homework, s/he could be dismissed from the academy.
  2. Students should wear proper clothes when attending classes.
  • Students wearing short shorts would not be able to attend classes.
  1. In case of any problems in labor and management of both Filipino and Native teachers, teachers could be changed and the student will be informed

 

 

Section 5. Penalty

 

  1. English Only Policy will be strictly followed. In case of violation, there will be penalty depending on the number of times the student violated the rule.
  • When the student violates the rule stated above for more than 6 times in one course period. s/he would be dismissed from the academy.

  1. The student could only speak their primary language outside the academy.
  2. When the course term changes, the number of times the student violated the rule would be dissolved.
  3. When the student smoke in a non-smoking area and inside the hotel, the student has to pay 500 pesos as a penalty fee.
  4. In case of any damage inside the academy, in the hotel and in any places due to the student’s improper action, the student would be asked to pay for all the damages. (The cost would depend on the damage/s)

 

Section 6. Expulsion and Warning

 

  1. No drinking inside the academy and hotel. Violation of this rule would result into expulsion from the academy.
  2. No man and woman will be in the same room. Violation of this rule would result into expulsion from the academy.
  3. If the student causes improper actions such as bullying, disturbing other students and other more improper actions, the academy board would judge and either warn or expel the student depending on the gravity and seriousness of the cause.
  4. The student could be expelled without prior notice if s/he starts gathering people to go against the academy due to his/her own complains.
  5. If the student misses classes and self-study time for more than three times without any proper reason, the student would be expelled from the academy.
  6. The students are not allowed to go out on Mondays to Fridays.
  7. The students are allowed to go out on Saturdays and Sundays but they have to be back to the hotel on or before 10 pm (Sunday). Violating this rule would result to expulsion.
  8. In case of robbery and it was found out and confirmed that the student is guilty of stealing, the student would be expelled.
  • In case of expulsion, the parents or agent would be informed.
  • In case of expulsion, no refund will be given.
  • After expulsion, the academy has no responsibility towards the student.
  • In case of expulsion, the student has to leave the hotel and academy within three days from the moment he was informed.

 

Section 7. Going out

 

Instances when going out would be allowed on weekdays

  1. Going to the hospital or any instances when it is really needed.
  2. When the parents come to the Philippines.
  3. When it is the last week of his/her stay in the Philippines.

 

Section 8. Other rules

 

  1. Certificate of completion of the course would only be given to those students who have completely attended 90% of the course. Certificate and report card would be given right after the course duration. For those students who have attended courses for less than 90% would not be given a certificate.
  2. Students have to pay for their own additional fees:
  • Visa extension
  • SSP
  • Accommodation deposit: 4,100 pesos. This fee will be given back to the student at the end of the course after checking the room and other facilities used by the student. If there is no damage, 100% will be returned, however, if there are damages caused by the student, the student will be informed of the damages and expenses will be deducted from the accommodation deposit. In case the damage would cost more than the accommodation deposit, the academy is allowed to ask money from the student. The academy will give all the original receipts back to the student and the academy will keep a photocopy of the receipts.
  • Others: Tour fee, Medical fee, Allowance
  1. In case of wanting to change the course, the student should fill up the course change form and submit it to the office 3 weeks prior to the start of the course.
  2. In case of change of course to a lower-level program, no difference fee will be refund.
  3. In case of change of course to a higher-level program, additional fee should be paid.

 

Hotel rules

All students who are enrolled to IDEA would have to live in Oasis hotel and would have to make sure to read and sign on the contract. In case of any distraction, damage and other improper actions done in the hotel, the student would be charged or expelled.

 

Section 1. Hotel

 

  1. The academy would be the one to assign rooms for the student.
  2. In case of wanting to change hotel room, the student has to pay for the additional fee.
  3. All students should pay the accommodation deposit. Accommodation deposit is to ensure the facilities of the academy and hotel. Accommodation deposit will be returned to the student within 1 week from the last day of the student in the academy.
  4. General cleaning is done every day and changing of bed sheet is done every two times a week.
  • In case of wanting to change the bed sheet, the student can request to the Office,
  1. Laundry is collected and returned every other day.
  • The detergent in the Philippines is 3 to 4 times stronger than of other countries’ and so it would be highly recommended to bring simple quality clothing so damage would minimize. There would be no refund in case of any damage.
  1. Personal & valuable belongings should be taken care well by the students themselves.
  2. Students have to bring their own toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, soap and others.
  3. When fire is caused due to the student’s action, the student has to pay for all the damages caused.

 

Section 2. Alcohol and Smoking

 

  1. No alcohols inside the rooms and academy. In case of the student drank outside of the academy and hotel premises and returned to the academy drunk and caused improper actions, disturbing other students, that specific student would be kicked out without prior notice.
  2. The students can only smoke in the smoking area and if ever the student violates this rule, the student has to pay penalty which amounts to 500pesos.

 

Section 3. In case of fire

  1. Evacuate using the stairs.

 

Section 4. In case of earthquake

 

  1. Open the nearest door. This is because the door might be squeezed resulting to getting stuck inside the room.
  2. Keep yourself protected below the table. If there are no tables cover your head with a hardbound book.
  3. When the earthquake is not too strong and it is possible to move out from the building, make sure to wear shoes this is because there might be a lot of shattered glasses on the floor.
  4. Make sure to be attentive with the announcement, do not panic and follow the instructions.

 

Section 5. In case of typhoon

 

  1. Do not go out. Stay in the hotel.
  2. Close the doors and windows.
  3. Make sure to be attentive with the announcements, do not panic and follow the instructions.
